PRESS: Yandex says to launch inter-city delivery service soon

MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex’s delivery service, Yandex Delivery, will expand to cover the whole country as international company DHL Express paused its operations, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.

Yandex Delivery will launch delivery of parcels via the pick-up points of marketplace Yandex Market between the cities at the end of October, a company representative told the daily. Now the service, part of application Yandex Go, is being tested on a limited audience.

At the first stage, the inter-city delivery will be available between Moscow and St. Petersburg and will expand to the whole chain of Yandex Market’s pick-up points in more than 40 cities by the end of 2022.

Researcher INFOLine-Analytics head Mikhail Burmistrov said that after the suspension of DHL Express, the largest players on the country’s market of express delivery are CDEK, PickPoint, DPD, Boxberry, and Russian Post’s EMS.
